Our Story

Nestled along the shores of Baga, Calangute, a village deeply rooted in fishing traditions, Sam's Beach Shack is more than just a place to eat, it is a story of family, heritage, and passion.

Sam's Beach Shack is a family run restaurant founded by three brothers, born and raised in a traditional fisherman family. In the year 2000, the eldest brother, after spending several years working overseas, made a heartfelt decision to return home. With experience gained from working in some of the well known restaurants in the locality and a deep love for food, he chose to build something of his own, right on the sands he grew up around.

The journey was not without challenges. From deciding the kind of business to pursue, to planning operations and finding the right manpower, every step demanded courage and commitment. That's when family stepped in. The second brother, already experienced in restaurant service, took charge of guest relations and service, while the youngest brother, then an undergraduate, managed paperwork and daily operations, balancing work with studies. The eldest brother, with his strong knowledge of food and preparation, led the kitchen with dedication and care.

What started with just five tables slowly grew through years of hard work, consistency, and passion. Today, Sam's Beach Shack proudly serves guests across 50 tables, with a growing team that shares the same values the brothers began with, honesty, warmth, and love for good food.

Our tagline, "THE PLACE WHERE APPETITE BEGINS," is not just a line, it's a belief we live by every day. At Sam's, food is prepared with special care, using time honoured techniques, fresh ingredients, and flavours inspired by the coastal life we know so well. Every dish that leaves our kitchen carries a part of our journey and a promise of quality.

Equally important to us is how our guests feel. We give personal attention to every table, ensuring that each guest feels welcomed, cared for, and at home. Our aim is not just to serve meals, but to create moments, memories that our guests carry with them long after their Goa vacation ends.
